In this 15-18 credit hour certificate, you'll explore topics including:
- Cultural perspectives on health, wellness and illness
- Social determinants of health in global contexts
- Cross-cultural communication and community engagement, helping you build strong collaboration skills
You'll also participate in two travel-based learning courses. In these courses, you'll explore healthcare systems in countries around the world and learn directly from local professionals. Past students have visited the World Health Organization in Switzerland to explore how global leaders address infectious disease prevention and response.
Depending on your course load, the international health certificate can be completed in as little as one year.
Once you complete your graduate-level international health certificate, you'll have the knowledge and experience to advance your career in public health, nonprofit, research and healthcare organizations.

Admission requirements
To be considered for admission, you must:
- Submit a completed application for admission and pay the application fee
- Submit official transcript(s) from previous institution(s)
- Hold a baccalaureate or equivalent degree from a regionally accredited institution with a cumulative GPA of at least 2.7 or, optionally, 3.0 in the final 60 semester hours of graded coursework toward the bachelor’s degree. If your undergraduate GPA is less than 2.7, admission with stipulations may be possible.
How much does an international health certificate cost?
The cost shown below is based on the current tuition and fee estimate. Your actual cost of attendance for financial aid purposes may vary based on your assigned tuition rate, the number of credits you're enrolled in and the length of your enrollment period. If you're enrolled in a single module instead of a full semester, your housing and food, transportation and personal expenses will be adjusted based on the number of weeks you're enrolled (for example, 12-week or 8-week modules). If you're enrolled less than half-time, your cost of attendance will not include housing and food, personal expenses or loan fees.
- Military tuition benefits: Active duty, veterans and military-affiliated students may qualify for reduced tuition, waived fees and need-based awards.
