Military tuition savings
We're committed to making earning a degree more affordable for military-connected students. Eligible active-duty service members, National Guard members, Reservists, military spouses and qualified dependents receive discounted tuition rates to help lower the cost of earning an online degree.
Active-duty students, their spouses and their dependents also receive a waived application fee and may qualify for additional fee waivers, making it even more affordable to get started.

A variety of scholarships are available to support military-connected students. Depending on your military status and eligibility, you may qualify for scholarships offered by CMU, military organizations and national foundations.

VA Education Benefits (GI Bill®)
Eligible veterans, service members and qualified dependents may be able to use VA education benefits, including the GI Bill®, to help pay for tuition and other education-related expenses. CMU works with students to certify enrollment and help them understand how to use their earned benefits throughout the admissions and enrollment process.

Military education, technical training and leadership experience often represent college-level learning. CMU evaluates military training and experience to determine whether it can be applied toward your degree, helping you complete your program sooner.

Military education and training credit
Your military service may help you earn academic credit before your first class.
CMU evaluates military transcripts, technical schools and other approved military education to determine whether your previous learning aligns with university coursework. Combined with transfer credit and Prior Learning Credit opportunities, military education and training credit may reduce the number of courses required to complete your degree.
Military spouses and dependents
Military life often comes with frequent moves and changing schedules. We offer flexible programs that allow military spouses and dependents to continue their education wherever life takes you.
Eligible spouses and qualified dependents of active-duty, National Guard and Reserve members receive discounted tuition and access to the same student support services available to every student. Many professional development programs may also qualify for MyCAA funding.
